For Starters Who Want to Be at the Finish Line Already

I’ve always been drawn to handmade markets, especially spiritual ones. There's something magical about exploring what’s out there.

But what struck me most wasn't just the unique offerings—it was the stories behind them. Talking to the vendors, hearing their passion and dedication in every word, made the experience so much deeper.

One vendor with adorable crafts caught my attention, so I asked, "Why is your brand called "Sleepy Human Studio?" She smiled and said, “Because I work full-time and only have time to craft when I’m sleepy.”
As cute as it is, that hit me. The hustle, the struggle—so relatable.
And she’s not alone. Many vendors shared similar stories— like one who had been working full-time and hosting market booths for every single weekend for 13 years, or a couple who live on a school bus, traveling from market to market to offer healing services.
Hearing these stories reflected so much of my own journey as a new solopreneur. We’re all facing similar challenges, yet these incredible people have persevered with passion and grit. They remind me that no one’s journey is without struggle and hard work, and there’s wisdom in every step of the process.
I found myself reflecting:
Why am I in such a rush? Why do I try to skip the process and land at the finish line already? These vendors didn’t wake up successful. They built their craft, their brand, and their community over years of dedication. And here I am, expecting myself to be the same as people who’ve been in the game for so long, getting defeated when things didn’t “work out” immediately, unknowingly expecting overnight results.
“It’s a process—one step at a time.”
We all know it; we understand it intellectually. But are we really embodying it?

There’s no shame in taking the time to build something meaningful.
Nothing is wrong with me or my worth because I’m still on my way.
This is just part of the process, and that’s perfectly normal.
Plus,
Skipping the process won’t get me there faster; it’ll only make me frustrated, burnout and tempted to give up sooner.
So, why are we in such a hurry to skip the process?
Can we pause and honor the journey, trust in the time it takes, and find the fun in each step forward, right now?
